Hotels and Motels

Visitors don't have to go very far to get a meal, accommodation or a drink while staying in Quorn. The main street, Railway Terrace, has four hotels only metres apart, each one providing service to the thousand locals who each have their favorite, and the many visitors to the town. (especially when the Pichi Richi Train is running)

The Criterion Hotel Motel once owned by Mr. Bruse along with the two storey building alongside, which is today known as  Quornucopia. The stables at the rear have been converted into motel accommodation. The top floor of Quornucopia was added later by Mr. Bruse and became a billiard room which even today is often referred to as Bruse's Hall. Many a lost hour was spent here by both locals and travellers alike until the Railway was diverted to the western side of the Flinders Ranges and the railway workshops transferred to Port Augusta in 1956.

Accommodation in Cradock

Cradock still has its Hotel and this is the last retail outlet left here. If you want to visit a bush pub then this may be your chance. Accommodation and meals are available. Being on the main road from Orroroo to Hawker it will possibly survive and most likely is a favorite with some truckies. Being single storey it is of an unusual design for this part of Australia.
