Fuel is available at Quorn and Hawker from a number of sites during normal retail hours. A number of service stations have limited after hours, weekend and holiday opening hours. It is always a good idea when travelling in the outback to refill your fuel tank whenever you see a fuel supplier open as it may be that you will not find another one half a day later. The price of fuel in these areas is usually relative to the distance from the nearest fuel distribution depot. Quorn has a fuel distributor and as such fuel is usually considerably cheaper in Quorn than further north. In fact it is normally cheaper than most service stations in Port Augusta.

At around four hours drive and 350 kilometres from Adelaide this is an ideal stopping place for fuel as it gives the driver a chance to relax for a while and most likely Quorn has the cheapest fuel and gas you will find in the north. Also Quorn has the best homemade pasties in Australia so a stop at the home of the Quornish pasties is almost mandatory.
