Where is the Flinders Ranges Area?Situated in South Australia, Quorn is 335 kilometres from Adelaide and Hawker is 400 kilometres. Travelling to the Flinders Ranges when on a trip to the Red Centre and Ayers Rock is easy. We are just 40 kilometres through the beautiful Pichi Richi Pass from Port Augusta. Spend a day or two here and you will not regret it. We can be reached by many different roads so you need not drive through the same old scenery every time you come back. Coming from Sydney and Brisbane or Cairns. Come through Dubbo, Broken Hill and Peterborough to either Quorn or Hawker. Or come through Bathurst or Yass to Hay, Mildura, Burra and Orroroo to Hawker or Gladstone and Wilmington to Quorn. Coming from Adelaide or Melbourne you can follow the coast highway and turn off at Stirling North seven kilometres before Port Augusta and come through Quorn and then on to Hawker. Or you can come through Gawler, Clare, and either Spalding and Orroroo to Hawker or Gladstone and Wilmington to Quorn. This route follows through the farming land in the Ranges and is certainly the prettiest. From Perth you would come through Port Augusta to Quorn and Hawker. From Alice Springs and Darwin you can come via Port Augusta or if you wish to travel via unsealed outback roads then come through William Creek and Maree to Hawker and Quorn.
