Sporting & Recreation FacilitiesMembers of Quorn's community participate in many different sporting activities. The high level of involvement by the community has meant that the facilities for such activities have in many cases been upgraded and well maintained. There is an indoor sports centre situated within the school grounds and this is hired out to be used by a number of Clubs. Quorn was one of the first small towns in northern South Australia to have a swimming pool built. Money to build it was raised locally and it has always been run by the community. Recently the Flinders Ranges Council has funded the upgrading of the pool along with much of the plant and machinery. This pool was built in 1961 and it features an entrance area and change rooms built from the bricks taken from the Willochra War Memorial Hall when it was closed. A large mural depicting the area has been painted along the wall facing Silo Road. Quorn Swimming Pool Entrance Gate

A favourite place with the children on hot days. As the temperature can often reach in excess of 45 degrees Celsius this is usually the most popular place in Summer. The diving board down the other end gets a good work-out.
Please, as a visitor to Quorn, enquire at your place of accommodation, or at The Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre about any of these facilities, so that you might enjoy them as well.
The Community Sports Centre has become the centre of activities in Hawker since being established and visitors are welcome. This caters for basketball, bowls, cricket, golf, netball, and tennis. Also has a shaded children's playground. The clubhouse is large and often meals are served. All mail to the above clubs should be sent to the Sports Centre.
